Thus, it begins to take its first steps and, after a short time, an agreement is signed with the Nuclear Safety Council (C.S.N.) for the formal closure of the T.R.E.T.A. Project (a software for the simulation of transients in nuclear power plants). This represents the final recognition that gets SIFISA off the ground.
Shortly afterwards, the Spanish multinational INDAL (now PHILIPS) selects SIFISA to develop its lighting systems calculation software (INDALWIN). This fact, together with the in-depth training of the company’s members in optics and lighting, defines SIFISA’s management, which is still in place today.
Throughout these years, SIFISA has managed to occupy an important position in lighting calculation, developing one of the few specific programmes for the calculation of lighting in tunnels. It has also become one of the few companies in Europe to manufacture luminance meters for road tunnels.
In addition, SIFISA has expanded and internationalised its field of action to become a company with customers almost all over the world.
Currently, the field of action is being extended to the measurement of illuminance on public roads and energy savings with the only software on the market capable of simulating entire municipalities in a few hours in order to be able to make decisions on the replacement of luminaires.
